Equine Therapy
Equine Therapy (Equine Assisted Learning) offers a unique, experiential approach to personal growth and emotional wellbeing.
Working alongside horses in a calm, natural environment offers a different way to engage in therapy. Rather than relying solely on traditional talk therapy, sessions create opportunities to explore connection, awareness, emotions and patterns through observation and interaction with the horses.
Horses are highly responsive to their environment and to the people around them. Their natural responses can provide immediate feedback and create opportunities to notice patterns, emotions and behaviours that may be harder to recognise or put into words. This can be particularly helpful for people who feel stuck or overwhelmed, or who simply prefer a more practical and experiential approach to therapy.
Sessions can support emotional regulation, confidence, boundaries, self-awareness and a greater understanding of how we relate to ourselves and others. There is no expectation to arrive knowing what to say, and no previous horse experience is needed.
All sessions are unmounted (on the ground) and are guided safely and at your own pace.
Equine Assisted Therapy is available face-to-face at Hills EAL in Roleystone.
